In accordance with Art. 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR), Officina Navale Quaiat S.r.l., hereinafter referred to only as the Data Controller, provides web site users with the following information on the way in which their personal data is processed.

2. Types of data processed

The computer systems and software procedures used on the above web sites acquire the following types of data automatically as part of their normal working function:

  • browsing data gathered from visits to the web site, the transmission of which is implicit in Internet communication protocols. By way of example: IP address of the device connected to the web site, type of browser used, name of the Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time of visit, referral web page the visitor came from and destination page the visitor browsed next, etc.;
  • browsing data gathered through Google Analytics, taking all possible steps to reduce the possibility of identifying users connected. By way of example: type of device used to connect, town/city from where the connection was made, duration of the visit to the web site, etc.;
  • The profiling of users and the relative IP addresses is not carried out: the data gathered will remain in the form of aggregated statistical data;
  • geolocalisation data provided by Bing Maps for the map of our office and to help clients get there;
  • data gathered using cookies when users browse the web site.

3. Purpose of the data processing

The data gathered is used exclusively within the scope of company activities and to enable web site functions; provide the user with the required information and services, ensure proper web site functioning, track the same and provide security support, finding ways to improve the same (as far as browsing data is concerned); comply with legal obligations or orders issued by Public Authorities, establish any responsibilities in the case of hypothetical cybercrimes committed against the web site or its users.

4. Legal basis of the processing

The legal basis of the processing can be established as follows:

  • the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract (or the implementation of pre-contractual measures) to which the subject is a party;
  • the data is processed for the purpose of prevention and prosecution of possible frauds and any other illegal activity;
  • subject’s consent in accordance with Art. 6, paragraph 1, of the GDPR. Conferment of the data and therefore consent for gathering and processing the same is voluntary. The User has the right to refuse to give his/her consent and can withdraw consent given at any time. However, denying consent may make it impossible to provide some of the services required and compromise the web site browsing experience.

5. Processing procedure

The personal data gathered is processed in respect of the principles of lawfulness, fairness and transparency provided for by Art. 5 of the GDPR, also by using IT and data processing and/or computerized instruments to save and manage the same data, and in any case in a way that guarantees data security and the greatest confidentiality for the subject.

6. Use of cookies

Cookies are small text files the web site sends to the user’s Internet browser. These files are saved on the user’s system and sent back to the web site the next time the user visits it. Cookies are used to gather information on the user browsing the web site (e.g. date, time, pages visited, time spent on the web site), some of which may be defined personal data and therefore be subject to specific provisions of the law. 7. Categories of subjects authorised to process the data and to whom the data may be disclosed

Users’ personal data will be known to and processed by, in compliance with the relevant laws in force, the Data Controller’s employees and collaborators, those managing the web portal and providing the related services. The data can only be disclosed to Public Authorities, the Police or other public bodies for the purpose of State security or defence and to investigate crimes, or to the Judicial Authorities in compliance with legal obligations if an offence has been committed. Apart from the above cases, personal data is never in any way disclosed to third parties. Finally, personal data will not be transferred to third countries or international organisations except in the case of specific requests from the user, for which the relevant consent must be acquired.

8. Period of time for which the data will be stored

In relation to the various purposes and scopes for which the data is gathered, said data will be stored for the time provided for by the relevant legislation, in other words for the time strictly necessary for the purpose of the processing. Specifically:

  • browsing data will be stored for up to 365 days;
  • browsing data gathered through Google Analytics will be stored for up to 26 months;
  • the data gathered through cookies will be stored for a period of time no greater than that specified in the policy enclosed with this document.

9. Subject's rights

In the relevant cases, the subject has the right to send a request to the Data Controller to gain access to the data and amend or cancel the same or limit any processing of said data, or to object to the processing of the same (Art. 15 et seq. of the Regulation).

10. Right to lodge a complaint

Subjects who believe that their personal data is processed by this web site in violation of the provisions of the Regulation have the right to lodge a complaint with the Supervisory Authority, as provided for by Art. 77 of the same Regulation, or to file a case with the relevant courts (Art. 79 of the Regulation).
